Here in the armpit of Sandy Hook, NJ, near the entrance to New York Harbor
Here at Sandy Hook, NJ, the entrance to New York Harbor (and within sight of the skyline of Manhattan), the temperature never got much above freezing (32° F), on Thursday with gusty northwest winds. I'm so happy the weather is finally getting cooler! I can't stand hot weather; it makes me sick. But last night I was able to put a second blanket on the bed to keep warm (and to add weight - I think I'm going to ask for a weighted blanket for my wintergift). Earlier this week there had been predictions of light snow for Thursday, but it didn't happen here. The ten-day forecast mainly indicates a continuation of cooler weather, with some rain but no snow. I may put on a pair of socks when I go to bed.

And by "not this year", I meant that the chances of my getting a weighted blanket any time soon are very small.
