Sun and scudding clouds for Christmas day, and fine, mostly sunny weather since then. Good weather for flowering pohutakawa trees and beach picnics. Nighttime now so 15 degrees C but it gets up to 22-23 in the days. Not too humid, either, so very pleasant. It'll get hotter and more humid January-Feb. It's always hotter after the longest day, not at the same time as the solstice. Maybe the land takes a while to heat up.
